Weight Loss Supplements Recalled

As new weight loss supplements continue to pour into the weight loss market for consumers looking for that quick fix, more supplements are found to have potentially damaging ingredients.

StarCaps which has been marketed as the diet supplement of the stars has been recalled due to the prescription drug Bumetanide, a diuretic that is typically prescribed for edema that is associated with liver and kidney disease and congestive heart failure. Lovely! StarCaps purportedly is an all-natural diet supplement from Peru that helped with weight loss through garlic and papaya enzyme. Guess it’s not so natural afterall.

The next recall from the FDA is for Zhen De Shou Fat Loss Capsules for containing sibutramine which is a prescription appetite suppressant. Consumers who were unaware of this were at risk of increased blood pressure which could cause serious problems for those with a history of congestive heart failure, stroke, coronary artery disease, or arrhythmias.

If you are currently using these supplements you should stop immediately and contact your physician to clear your health and give you suggestions on safe supplements.
